Authorities say a Weedsport man faces a number of charges after a traffic stop was conducted on State Route 5&20 in Auburn.
Troopers arrested Nicholas F. Chase, 29, of Weedsport was charged with reckless driving, failure to stop at a stop sign, illegal signal, unsafe movement of a stopped motor vehicle, speeding, unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Chase was stopped on State Route’s 5 and 20 in the City of Auburn after Troopers observed him driving recklessly.
He was found in possession of a plastic container with marijuana, a marijuana cigarette and a controlled substance.
Chase was arraigned in the City of Auburn Court and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to reappear at a later date.
