It’s going to be a rain-to-snow kind of Thursday in the Finger Lakes.
It won’t be a washout, or ‘snowout’, but it will definitely be another ‘dreary’ day for those who call this usually beautiful scenery home.
Temperatures will be moderate – with a couple places possibly reaching the upper-40s before things begin cooling off, and doing so rapidly. Winds will be gusty throughout the afternoon – with some gusts in the 30 to 35 mph range.
FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil says as temperatures fall during the late-afternoon hours – that precipitation will turnover to snow.
He says most areas won’t see any accumulation – but will be enough to prompt some extra caution on the roadways. Some areas, according to the meteorologist, could see snow showers linger into the night, which would allow for a light dusting of snow by morning.
