The public hearing for the Auburn Enlarged City School District’s proposed multi-million capital project was presented largely to empty chairs Tuesday night.
No members of the public showed up at the start of the hearing in the Auburn High School library, while the district’s board of education and a couple district employees were present.
Seven people came to the hearing 15 minutes into Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo’s presentation on the history, scope and potential financing of the possible project, which is set to not exceed $43.7 million. When Pirozzolo finished, he recapped the first half of the presentation to the people who missed it. When Pirozzolo asked if they had any questions, he was greeted with silence.
