No injuries despite two multi-vehicle accidents on Thruway as holiday weekend concludes

A pair of crashes on the New York State Thruway between exits 40 and 41 snarled traffic in Northern Seneca and Cayuga counties on Sunday.

While there weren’t any injuries reported at either accident – it was enough to keep local first responders busy on the last day of a busy holiday weekend.

Magee Fire Department and North Seneca Ambulance responded, according to reports from first responders. They noted that beyond injuries – one accident involved two cars; while the second involved four cars.

Reports of frustrated drivers along the Thruway between Rochester and Syracuse were frequent.

One of those frustrated motorists took to social media to ask drivers to focus on the road in front of them during busy travel time – like holiday weekends. “I just got home after getting on the Thruway at Syracuse,” she wrote. “Too many people darting in and out of traffic, slow moving vehicles and semi’s going over 70 mph passing vehicles.”

Additional details were not available about the accidents. However, this story will be updated as more information becomes available.
