Felony charges filed in Auburn meth lab bust; additional arrests/charges pending

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office announced charges filed against an Orchard Street resident in Auburn following the execution of a search warrant.

As part of the methamphetamine search warrant execution on November 9th in the City of Auburn – 54-year-old Thomas Hutton, of Auburn – was charged with unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, criminal possession of a weapon, and conspiracy.

The felony charges are part of an ongoing meth investigation. Sheriff Gould says that the suspect was producing meth in the presence of a person under 16-years-of-age.

Hutton was arraigned in Auburn City Court and held in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.

As of Monday, Gould reports that Hutton remains incarcerated at the Cayuga County Jail. He notes that additional charges and arrests are likely as part of this investigation.
