Seneca Falls man belligerent after sentence

A Seneca Falls man accused of sexually abusing a child was sentenced Monday to two years behind bars — and did not take it well.

Acting Seneca County Judge Rick Healy sentenced Shaun Fox to a pair of years in the county jail following his conviction for two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The charge is a misdemeanor.

First Assistant District Attorney Mark Sinkiewicz said the jury was deadlocked on five counts of second-degree course of sexual conduct with a child. That charge is a class D felony punishable by up to seven years in prison.

Fox, 42, of Auburn Road, was arrested by Seneca Falls police last year following a child abuse investigation. He was accused of engaging in sexual contact with a child under the age of 13 in the summer of 2016.

Seneca County Child Protective Services and the district attorney’s office assisted Seneca Falls police in the investigation.
