According to the Albany Times Union, the SUNY Board of Trustees approved a system-wide policy this week, and it directly impacts sexual and romantic relationships on all SUNY campuses.
The policy restricts relationships between students and faculty and imposes disclosure requirements for relationships between staff members of unequal power.
The policy also calls on schools to train staff members and students on how to not only spot sexual harassment, but how to report it as well.
This is the first policy to be implicated statewide. Previously, schools would independently set their own rules regarding romantic relationships among students and staff.
