Cool, damp today followed by threat for gusty storms on Tuesday

The entire region will likely see rain, with temperatures making it feel more like late-October than the first of the month.

Forecasters say chances of rain will ease as the day progresses, but parts of the area could see a quarter- or half-inch of rainfall by the end of the day.

While it will feel raw, the National Weather Service says it will be short-lived – as temperatures and humidity build back into the Finger Lakes on Tuesday.

Heavy rain and gusty winds will be possible as a weak cold front approaches the area. The biggest threat will be the flash flood risk – along the Southern Finger Lakes, and Southern Tier.

Strong winds within storms could take down trees where the ground is already soaked. Those same areas will be most-likely to see flooding impact on Tuesday.
