The Auburn Downtown Business Improvement District announced Wednesday that it has hired a visitor experience manager for the Equal Rights Heritage Center being built in downtown Auburn.
Courtney Rae Kasper has been hired by BID Executive Director Stephanie DeVito to step into the visitor experience manager position, which will pay around $45,000 a year. She will officially be an employee of the BID, but her salary paid through an agreement between BID and the city of Auburn that pays the downtown organization $90,000 to run the center through June 2019.
The Auburn City Council approved the agreement during its weekly meeting Sept. 20 and the BID approved it Tuesday at its monthly board meeting.
“I am thrilled to welcome Courtney to the BID team,” DeVito said. “Her motivation, expertise, leadership skills and infectious personality will be a terrific asset to the Equal Rights Heritage Center and our community.”
According to the press release from BID, Kasper, who lives in Auburn, “brings an expertise in marketing and promotion with an eye towards the equal rights heritage, and local and regional attractions that the center will be focused on promoting” and lists her prior experience as an associate publisher for the Scotsman Media Group, overseeing publications such as Today’s CNY Woman magazine.
