An Auburn man ordered to a lifetime on the state sex offender registry in 2014 for raping a 14-year-old girl was arrested this week for allegedly having various social media accounts, emails and phone numbers not registered with the state and not approved or authorized by the Cayuga County Probation Department.
Steven A. Strecker, 27, 43 Pulaski St., Apt. 4, was picked up on a bench warrant for a probation violation Tuesday. Strecker, a level 2 sex offender, was being investigated in another case, according to the Auburn Police Department, and during that investigation, it was found that Strecker had various emails, social media accounts and phone numbers he had not reported.
