Three people were arrested on Saturday following what appears to be an intentional dispute.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Old Ridge Road in Sodus, after receiving a report of a disturbance that involved three men with weapons.
Deputies arrested Joshua Jackson and Dashawn Faniel, both of Sodus, and Jonathan Ivey of Newark on September 1.
Deputies say Jackson drove his vehicle in a manner that endangered Faniel. Jackson was allegedly chasing Faniel down the road and into a driveway, almost striking him.
Faniel entered his girlfriends house and got a machete. Deputies say his girlfriend has an order of protection against him.
Faniel then approached the vehicle, that is when Ivey exited the vehicle with a baseball bat. The pair then continued to threaten each other.
Deputies say Faniel tried to run away and was apprehended by New York State Police. State Police saw Faniel try to dispose of the machete.
Ivey and Faniel were arrested for criminal possession of a weapon. Faniel was also arrested for menacing, along with criminal contempt and aggravated family offense for violating a stay away order of protection.
Both men were arraigned in the Town of Sodus Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail. They will appear in court on September 4.
