Authorities in Schuyler County report that Hector officials say that they are unable to pump water at this time (2:50 pm), due to a major water main break on State Route 414 near Club Seneca. “Bottled water will be available sometime later today at the Hector & Burdett Fire Houses and the Town Hall,” officials said in a statement.
The Red Cross has opened up a shelter at Watkins Glen Central High School for those in need of assistance.
Schuyler Hospital has closed all primary care centers and outpatient clinics for Tuesday. For any emergent health issues, residents are asked to visit the Emergency Room or call 911.
The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department is urging that residents do not call 911 for non-emergencies. They are handling numerous calls related to the flooding throughout the center portion of the county.
Schuyler County has not been hit quite as hard as their neighbors in southern Seneca County. Check out FingerLakes1.com’s coverage of the State of Emergency in Lodi here.
The National Weather Service has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Southern Schuyler until 4:15 p.m.
