Police: Syracuse man displayed gun, robbed Auburn convenience store

A Syracuse man has been arrested for allegedly robbing an Auburn convenience store early Monday.

Auburn police officers were dispatched to Byrne Dairy at 70 Arterial East in Auburn for a robbery. The suspect was identified as a man wearing all black. The man entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from a clerk, according to a news release.

The Byrne Dairy clerk complied with the request, police said, and the suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police established a perimeter and officers located the suspect, 18-year-old Javon English.

English, of 4608 S. Salina St., Syracuse, has been charged with first-degree robbery, a class B felony.
