A man was taken into custody after an hours-long standoff in Montezuma, according to state police.
The incident unfolded at 7391 Fuller Road, which resulted in the roadway being shut down for several hours. While the incident was called in around 1 pm, the road re-opened at 6:45 pm.
There weren’t any hostages or victims involved, but the man inside was reportedly heavily armed, according to 911 reports.
Fuller Road was closed to traffic from Carner Road to Turnpike Road, and state police vehicles occasionally went in and out of the area.
State Police say the suspect was taken into custody around 6:15 pm. Reports from 911 indicated that a threatening social media post, directed at a Wayne County Family Court judge were at the center of the incident and investigation.
The suspect told WSYR in Syracuse that he has proof that the mother of his children is abusing them and the Wayne County Court would not listen to his claims.
The suspect taken into custody was not identified by police, but an update is expected.
