Police: Auburn man arrested for domestic incident, violating order of protection

Auburn police arrested an Auburn man last week for a domestic incident which violated an order of protection, police said.

During the incident, called in around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, police said, Jacob Ramsperger, 27, violated an order of protection against a 30-year-old woman by grabbing her throat with two hands. Police said he also prevented her from leaving his 11 E. Genesee St. apartment.

Police said Ramsperger and the victim ended up in the hallway of the apartment building, and the victim was able to get back into the apartment and close the door on Ramsperger. At that time, Cayuga County dispatchers were returning her phone call and she was able to answer the call and ask for help.

Police said Ramsperger was arrested at 2:33 a.m. without incident and was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and first-degree criminal contempt, a felony.
