Teen mistakenly hits gas pedal, strikes two cars in Sodus

Deputies say they investigated a three-car accident with injuries in the village of Sodus Point on Monday.

The crash happened shortly before 8 pm on First Street near Sodus Point Park for the reported crash. Police say 16-year-old Jasmine Davis was exiting the park and made a left turn onto First Street. They say she lost control of her vehicle when she mistakenly pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake.

As result, the vehicle crossed the roadway and struck two unoccupied, parked cars. All three vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene.

The back seat passenger of the vehicle sustained a minor laceration and contusion to her left forehead. The passenger was treated and released by Silver Waters Ambulance.

Davis was ticketed for moving from lane unsafely. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Silver Waters Ambulance and Sodus Point Fire Department.
