Strong storms will be scattered, plenty of dry time remains

While there will be a risk for thunderstorms – it should remain minimal.

The National Weather Service has moved an area of focus for where they believe the strongest thunderstorms will develop to the east. Setting up for a showery, but still comfortable day here in the Finger Lakes. Temperatures will push toward 70 degrees; and even reach into the low-70s for some of the region.

It won’t be a washout. The showers will be scattered with a lot of ‘dry time’ throughout the day. It won’t hurt to bring the umbrella, but shouldn’t be necessary all day.

In areas this afternoon where thunderstorms develop, there will be the outside risk of those storms packing a punch. They will be significantly more isolated than previously expected, though, according to forecasters.
