Cayuga Counseling Services has received grant funding to hire a new case manager in Auburn.
On Monday, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that 86 victim assistance programs would receive federal and state funds to improve services for crime victims, and Cayuga Counseling Services was one of them.
According to a press release, the Auburn agency was awarded approximately $200,000 to hire one case manager. That funding will be spread out over three years with an option for a two-year renewal.
"New York is committed to providing crime victims the resources they need as they start on their road to recovery," Cuomo said. "These grants will support the addition of new staff at victim assistance programs across the state, help the healing process for crime victims of all ages, and further our efforts to support a stronger, safer New York for all."
