Police: Man who robbed Domino’s driver apprehended after standoff

The Ithaca Police Department apprehended a suspect in the robbery of a Domino's driver earlier this week following a standoff Tuesday at an apartment complex.

The department's Investigations Division identified a suspect in the robbery of the delivery driver that occurred Monday night in the 400 block of Elm Street and tracked the man to an apartment complex at 150 West Village Place, according to a press release.

The man's name was not immediately released.

Police said the defendant barricaded himself inside of an apartment and after attempts were made to negotiate the suspect's safe surrender, he was taken into custody by the SWAT Team.

After the suspect was taken into custody, officers observed what appeared to be evidence of a small meth lab inside the apartment. The investigation continued into Wednesday morning, with the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT) expected to arrive.
