A motion appointing the son of town attorney David Foster as the town’s information technology network administrator was tabled Tuesday.
The motion was made by Supervisor Greg Lazzaro, with a second from board member Louis Ferrara Jr.
However, board member David DeLelys made a motion to table a vote, seconded by Vic Porretta. The tabling motion passed 3-2.
On Nov. 14, the board voted 3-2 to create the full-time network administrator position. That motion was made by Lazzaro. In favor were Lazzaro, Ferrara and DeLelys. Opposed were Tom Ruzicka and Porretta.
The position would be a competitive Civil Service job. The person hired will succeed Stoneboat Consulting, a business owned by County Supervisor Steve Churchill. Stoneboat’s contract ends Dec. 31.
The board then voted to advertise for applicants.
