Seneca IDA to vote on casino hotel tax breaks

For every dollar of tax exemption given to the Indus Hospitality Group for a proposed 150-room Hilton Garden Inn at the del Lago Resort & Casino site, there would be $4.40 in benefits.

That’s the conclusion of a cost-vs.-benefit analysis of the project done for the Seneca County Industrial Development Agency by the Center for Governmental Research in advance of Thursday’s vote on final approval of the Indus incentive package.

The IDA is proposing to provide an exemption from paying sales tax on materials, supplies and equipment associated with the construction and furnishing of the $24 million hotel, banquet center and conference center.

The value of that is listed as $1,245,000.
