Wednesday will be a sunny, but noticeably cooler day for the Finger Lakes.
FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil reports that lake effect snow throughout the region should be limited on Wednesday, as winds will still be pushing out of the southwest. That said, a change will be coming – and that will mean some measurable snowfall for those living in the Western Finger Lakes.
Montreuil says that high temperatures will top out in the upper-30s on Wednesday, with plenty of sun, and breezy conditions. He says that some gusts over 30 mph will be possible, which will make it feel even cooler.
Conditions will change on Thursday as winds turn westerly during the overnight hours. He says that “It remains difficult to pinpoint where the band will set up and there is a very real possibility that it will wobble to and fro throughout the night and daytime hours on Thursday.”
Regardless, Montreuil notes that snow accumulations across most of the Finger Lakes will range from nothing to perhaps- an inch, or two of snow. West of Canandaigua Lake, accumulation will start to pile up – where more snowfall is expected.
Montreuil says that a light area snowfall will be possible during the second half of the weekend. He also reports that behind a couple clipper systems early next week – temperatures will struggle to get out of the teens.

Partly sunny, with a high near 35.

Snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 31. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
