Crews from Cayuga, Onondaga respond to mobile home fire in Brutus

It took fire crews from two counties to tend to a mobile home fire in Brutus on Wednesday.

According to first responders, the call came in around 2:30 pm. Weedsport, Jordan, Port Byron, Sennett and Elbridge fire departments were called to the scene.

The home, which was located at 8 Fiesta Lane was deemed a total loss. The Red Cross was notified to provide assistance to the two residents, identified as brothers.

The fire was put out within 30 minutes, according to Weedsport Fire Chief David James.

No other homes in the area were damaged, but it’s unclear what caused the fire.

No injuries were reported, as the residents were not home at the time of the blaze.
