Reported standoff ends with felony charges in Ithaca

Ithaca Police Units responded to 521 Hudson Street for a reported domestic incident reported as a physical dispute. While at the scene officers developed information that one of the involved parties was wanted on a bench warrant for a felony charge of Criminal Possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree.

The wanted subject was able to barricade himself in a second floor bedroom refusing to surrender to police. Several attempts were made to engage the subject in conversation without success.

The Ithaca police department SWAT team was activated and out of an abundance of caution South Hill School was notified at which point they made alternate arrangements for where they normally release children.
