David Sweat, one of the two escapees from the Clinton Correctional Facility in 2015, was moved Friday to the famous Attica prison in western New York, state officials confirmed Tuesday.
Sweat, a convicted murderer, was captured after a three-week manhunt after he and fellow inmate Richard Matt escaped from the Dannemora prison in June 2015.
Matt was shot and killed by police; Sweat was brought back to prison and had been housed since at Five Points Correctional Facility in Romulus, Seneca County.
Prisoners are regularly moved among facilities, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
