Bill Sebring has spent his entire adult life believing he was not a father to any children.
No one ever called him “Dad’’ or “Grandpa.’’
That changed this past spring.
A lifelong bachelor, the 68-year-old Sebring is now basking in the knowledge that he has a 45-year-old daughter in Colorado, as well as three grandsons.
Earlier this month, he and his “significant other” Carol Grimes traveled to suburban Denver to meet his daughter, Jenny Kish Minardi, and her family.
It was an emotional week and Sebring is still basking in the joy of his new-found family.
“It’s incredible to learn I’m a father and grandfather after all these years, having a daughter and grandsons to carry on the family. I couldn’t be happier. It’s given my life a new meaning,” Sebring said.
Grimes agrees. “I think it’s great. It’s changed Bill’s life. He’s never been happier,” she said.
