A week after winning the Monroe County Tournament of Champions, Webster’s Mikah McDonnell claimed her first sectional crown with a four-stroke victory in the girls golf 2017 Section V Championship at Penfield Country Club, Tuesday.
McDonnell, 16, led after the front nine with a score of 39, followed by a 38 on the back nine. The Webster Thomas junior finished with a 77 to surpass last season’s sectional champion and Democrat and ChronicleAll-Greater Rochester player of the year, Pittsford senior Lena Kaufman.
