The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that a tractor-trailer flipped, which was carrying milk on State Route 21 resulting in both lanes of the highway to be closed for hours.
The crash happened just before noon and resulted in the driver being airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital. Deputies say that due to an unknown reason, he traveled off of the road, causing the truck to strike a culvert and flip.
The driver, has been identified as a Liverpool resident. The wheels broke off the vehicle, and the tanker was emptied.
Michael A. Hooper, 31, of Liverpool suffered head and arm injuries. He was transported to Strong Hospital via Mercy Flight as a precaution, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
