Harmful algae blooms subject of upcoming Skaneateles talk

A panel of local officials and researchers will discuss harmful algae blooms on Skaneateles Lake from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4 in the Skaneateles High School Auditorium.

Speakers will include two SUNY ESF professors, Robert G. Werner and Gregory Boyer, who also work with the Owasco Lake Watershed Inspection Program on testing bloom samples for toxins. Werner will present, “Whatever Happened to Skaneateles Lake?” Boyer will present “Harmful Algal Blooms and Their Toxins — Sort Out the Facts From the Internet Fiction.”
