Runaways arrested in Watkins Glen, one tries to evade police

Two 16-year-old youths who were reported as runaways from Freedom Village have been arrested by Watkins Glen Village Police on August 3rd.

The three reported runaways were located on N. Glen Avenue in the Village at about 7:45 am. One of the runaways was found to be in possession of stolen property and was arrested for criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth Degree, class A misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in Village of Watkins Glen Court and committed to the Schuyler County Jail on $250 cash bail.

A second runaway fled from police and was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. He was charged with obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest, both class A misdemeanors and two counts of harassment in the second degree.

He was also arraigned in Village of Watkins Glen Court and committed to the Schuyler County Jail on $3,000 cash bail.

The third runaway was turned over to Yates County Deputies and returned to Freedom Village.
