Wayne GOP candidates file petitions

The three Republicans running for open county seats this November announced that they have collected 1,201 signatures on petitions to place them on the November ballot.

The three candidates are incumbent Sheriff Barry Virts, incumbent Town Clerk Mike Jankowski and district attorney candidate David Fulvio.

“I am appreciative of the hard work that the members of the Republican Committee put in to assure our place on the ballot and all of the Republicans that showed their support of us by signing our designating petitions,” said Virts. ”I will continue to serve this county with integrity and transparency. Wayne County deserves the best and my office will continue to give you our best.”

Jankowski said that “as a former member of the committee, I know the effort and time it takes to get 1,201 signatures, I thank everyone in this process. If anyone has any questions I am always available to help you to the best of my ability.”

Fulvio added that while he covered all 15 towns in Wayne County to gather signatures, he was honored to receive the support of the committee, which introduced him to voters at town caucuses and collected signatures along with him.
