Shores keeps Waterloo BOE seat

Michael Shores was unanimously re-elected president of the Board of Education at Wednesday’s annual organization meeting.

Shores, of 2982 East Ave. and a retired UPS driver, was nominated by Charles Bronson. He was elected by an 8-0 vote of the board. Board member Coreen Lowry was absent.

For vice president, Terri Reese nominated Colby O’Brien, and John Butlak nominated Nichol Swartley.

Swartley received five votes to O’Brien’s three. Voting for Swartley were Shores, Bronson, Swartley, Butlak and Ellen Hughes.

Voting for O’Brien were O’Brien, Reese and Kathleen Oldfield.
