New Grant Avenue car wash, Genesee Street McDonald’s remodel under review in Auburn

The Auburn Planning Board will soon vote on two new commercial site plan applications: one to construct a new single-tunnel car wash on Grant Avenue and the other to remodel the existing McDonald’s restaurant on Genesee Street.

According to Senior Planner Stephen Selvek, both projects were proposed to the planning board earlier this year, and both have gone back and forth on designs to address vehicular traffic concerns.

The car wash — proposed by Robert Marchenese LLC — would be built on a five-acre parcel of land at 226 Grant Ave. Constructed on the corner of Grant Avenue and Corporate Drive — next to JK Nail Spa and Metro PCS — it would feature an automated single-bay tunnel with drying air jets as well as a line of around 16 vacuum stations.
