In three years, Clyde-Savannah’s swim teams might achieve something that has never been done in district athletics: Host a home meet.
That’s because the Junior-Senior High School pool is 5 feet short of regulation size, said Superintendent Michael Hayden. While the boys and girls swimmers can practice in their own pool, they can’t host any meets.
That will change if district voters on Tuesday approve a $27.1 million capital project that includes the construction of a new pool, which would be part of a building addition.
The pool is one of the highlights of the district’s proposed capital project that also includes the addition of a gymnasium at the elementary school and a fitness center renovation at the Junior-Senior high school, where a renovated cafeteria also is proposed.
