Seneca County Chamber and Veterans Agency Launch Veterans Discount Program

The Seneca County Chamber of Commerce and the Seneca County Veterans Service Agency are pleased to announce the start of a new discount program aimed at rewarding Military Veterans for their service to our country.

The program, known as the “Veterans Discount Program,” provides discounts on both products and services offered at local businesses. To receive the benefit, veterans need only to show valid identification (indicating their service history) to participating merchants. As part of the program, businesses have been provided official window decals for display at their location to indicate their affiliation. Veterans can also contact the Chamber for a complete listing of area businesses and their discounts.

“Our Chamber has always embraced the special bond that our community has with its military personnel — from activities surrounding the former Sampson Naval Base to promotion of the birthplace of Memorial Day,” said Jeff Shipley, President of the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce. “Veterans have long played an important role in the development of our economy through local commerce.”

“This program is a great way for businesses to recognize the service and sacrifices made by all veterans and active duty personnel” said Mackenzie Green Membership Development Manager for the Seneca County Chamber.

“As a veteran, I appreciate both the acknowledgement and generosity that this program affords my fellow service men and women,” said Jack O’Connors, Director of the Seneca County Veterans Service Agency. “Our office is committed to helping veterans receive the care and benefits they rightfully deserve to help their families. This program will make an important difference in their lives and help encourage them to do business locally.”

To date, nearly 30 businesses have committed discounts to the program. Among them: ECS Tax Service (Waterloo), Waterloo Laundry Depot, Buttonwood Grove Winery, NYCC Health and Fitness Center, Cayuga Lake Cabins, Barrett Marine, Seneca Museum of Waterways & Industry, Seneca Falls Historical Society, Hosmer Winery, Frontenac Point Winery, Fuzzy Guppies and Waterloo Harbor Campground, Fairfield Inn & Suites (Geneva), Rodney Littlejohn DDS, Select EuroCars, Montezuma Winery, Kelsey Construction, Downtown Deli (Seneca Falls), Idol Ridge Winery, Meyer Farm Distillers, HEP Sales, Parker’s Grille (Seneca Falls), Jerome Oleska DDS and One Stop Janitorial Service.
