A farm accident on Welker Rd. left a Penn Yan boy hospitalized at Strong Memorial Hospital, according to deputies.
Deputies in Yates County say the incident happened around 9 am, when the 2-year-old and his brother were in a barn with their father. The younger child then climbed onto an operating feed conveyor and became pinched by the large machine.
The father was able to rescue the child, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office. Penn Yan Ambulance responded to the scene, along with the Penn Yan Fire Department.
The child would eventually be flown to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of a head injury.
