The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on April 17th deputies arrested Harold L. Oliver Jr., 39, on a Seneca County Supreme Court sealed indictment warrant.
It’s reported that Oliver was arrested in the Town of Seneca Falls on a separate complaint and it was discovered that he had been wanted. Oliver was taken into custody by the Sheriff’s Road patrol and taken to the Seneca County Jail until Seneca County Court was back in session.
On Monday Oliver was arraigned in front of Judge Bender for the charges of second-degree forgery, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and petit larceny.
Investigators received a complaint in December 2016 of a forged check from a resident in Ovid. Upon investigation of the complaint it was ascertained that sometime in July of 2016 Oliver obtained a check from a mailbox in Ovid, altered the check and cashed it at a local bank.
Investigators say Oliver was committed to the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 insured bond. Oliver Jr. is to reapppear on May 12th to answer the charges.
