Cayuga County Sheriff David Gould says that a 23-year-old Fulton woman has been charged with endangering the welfare of a disabled person after a complaint from the Town of Sterling.

Jenna M. Boyle, 23, of Fulton is accused of being tasked with caring for a completely disabled man. The man’s wife, who filed the complaint, said that he was completely disabled due to suffering from a stroke.

After family left Boyle and the man alone for a period of time — Boyle decided that she no longer wanted to care for the disabled man, according to Deputiy Justin Leszczynski, who investigated the complaint.

The completely disabled man was left alone until family had returned.

Boyle was subsequently charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.

The charge is a misdemeanor and will be answered in Sterling Town Court on April 19th at 7 pm.
