A Savannah woman is facing multiple charges after she was involved in a domestic incident and found to be in possession of a stolen gun.
Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts reports that on March 8th Roxanne G. Gillette, 45, of Savannah was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, and fourth-degree grand larceny.
Gillette is accused of getting into a verbal argument with a family member in her home, and stealing a semi-automatic handgun, which belonged to that family member. She left the residence in a vehicle with the stolen handgun, and deputies initiated a traffic stop.
Deputies say she was driving on Clapper Rd. in the Town of Huron when the traffic stop was initiated. She was charged and taken into custody without incident.
Gillette is being held at the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,500 secured bond.
