Jan Nyrop looks around his new digs on the campus of the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station and admits it doesn’t have the look of a modern office, beyond the laptop and monitor on his desk. The meeting room table is a solid piece of furniture that has been refinished. Same for the solid chairs that wrap around it.
Jordan Hall, where the Ag Station director’s office is, has the look of a venerable institution. All those are good things, said Nyrop, the interim director of the Ag Station. They demonstrate permanence, he said.
