When Waterloo Premium Outlets opened on Route 318 in 1994, it had nearly 100 light poles erected on the property, mostly in its expansive parking lot. Over the years, their bases rusted out and weakened, making them susceptible to being blown over by high winds.
One employee reported a falling pole nearly hit his parked car. Daniel Delson, senior vice president of Lividini & Co. of New York, a brand development, marketing and retail firm, said that on Jan. 4, a parking lot light pole fell during a wind storm. He said the pole caused no damage and no one was injured.
