Local law enforcement officials draft secondhand dealer law in Cayuga County

Years after the Cayuga County Legislature tabled a proposed secondhand dealer law, local law enforcement officials have once again come together to create a new draft.

Cayuga County Sheriff David Gould, Undersheriff James Stowell, Detective Lt. Brian Schenck and District Attorney Jon Budelmann met Friday afternoon to discuss the draft, which would ultimately require secondhand sellers to register with the county and keep strict records of their sales.
