Crews were called back to the scene of a Christmas Day fire on West Blaine Road in Romulus. The Ovid Fire Department notes that the house was saved. Several photos from the scene Friday morning were sent by Rachel Burkholder, who regularly contributes to FingerLakes1.com.

Deputies in Seneca County say on Christmas Day they were called to a garage fire on West Blaine Road in Romulus. The fire was reported shortly before 1 pm and deputies say they arrived at 12:58 pm.
When they arrived the garage was fully engulfed with heavy black smoke pouring from the structure. Deputies spoke with residents, Sally A. Tuuri, 74, and Raymond A. Tuuri, 72, who stated that they were the only ones home.
They told deputies that no one had been in the garage all day. The garage was a total loss, estimated at $20,000.
Ovid Fire Department was the lead agency with Romulus, Varick and Lodi Fire Departments assisting at the scene. South Seneca Ambulance was also on scene. No injuries were reported.
