Ontario Co. Deputies: 26-year-old male charged with kidnapping after trying picking up child for sex

Deputies in Ontario County have arrested a 26-year-old man after he tried to pick up a 15-year-old for a ‘weekend of sex’.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that on December 6th they received a complaint that a 15-year-old female had been receiving inappropriate text messages from an unknown male. Based on the content of the messages it appeared that the male was attempting to get the victim to meet him at a hotel without the knowledge of her parents.

During the investigation he was identified as Sir Jordan Steinfeldt, 26, of Rochester. An investigator posed as the 15-year-old female and continued messaging the suspect for several days. On December 9th Steinfeldt drove to a business on West Main Street in Victor in an attempt to pick up the 15-year-old female and take her to Buffalo for the weekend. Investigators say that the purpose of that encounter was to engage in sexual activity.

Steinfeldt was taken into custody after he pulled into the parking lot and was charged with first-degree attempted kidnapping. He was arraigned in Victor Town Court and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash bail or $60,000 secured bond.
