The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Saturday, October 8th at 8:00 am deputies responded to a personal injury accident at the intersection of State Route 336 and MacDougal Road in the Town of Varick.
Deputies report that Roy Smith, 80, of Geneva was eastbound on Route 336 preparing to stop and turn onto MacDougal Road. While Smith was waiting for oncoming traffic to pass he was rear ended by Ashley Hall, 23, of Varick.
Smith was treated at the scene by South Seneca Ambulance and transported to Geneva General Hospital for further treatment. Hall was uninjured but was also transported to Geneva General Hospital for a check over by South Seneca Ambulance. Hall’s two passengers were uninjured in the accident.
Hall was issued a traffic ticket for following too closely and will appear in Varick Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
