New evidence of harmful algae blooms have been spotted in the Kime Beach area on the western shore of Seneca Lake, the second year in a row it’s happened there.
Lake samples taken Sept. 19 from two areas along Kime Beach have been tested and the new blooms of cyanobacteria, or blue-green algae, confirmed. The levels of cyanobacteria found are considered harmful to people and animals.
