The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that an investigation into the double-fatal car accident in Farmington last month has been completed. The accident occurred at the corner of County Road 28 and Shortsville Road in the Town of Farmington on March 11th. It was determined that Jason Jensen, the driver of the 2004 Ford Explorer traveling east on Shortsville Road failed to stop at the stop sign. When it entered the intersection it struck a 2002 Ford pickup truck occupied by Jeffery Vandermallie and Halan Hallings.

The pickup truck, which was being operated by Vandermallie was forced into a 2004 Chevrolet stopped at the intersection. Both individuals were killed on impact, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured in the accident. The five occupants inside the Jensen vehicle were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of various injuries. The case was turned over the the Ontario County District Attorney’s Office and Jensen was issued tickets for reckless driving, failure to stop at sign, failure to yield the right of way, and unreasonable speed with special hazards. He will answer the charges in Farmington Town Court on April 25th at 6 pm.
