The new Winter Weather Advisory begins at 7 pm and remains active until 2 pm on Monday. This advisory includes the following counties: Cayuga, Ontario, Monroe, Wayne, and Livingston. An additional 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected with this system, which could result in poor visibility and hazardous travel at times, throughout the Finger Lakes. The Wind Advisory for Cayuga, Onondaga, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Cortland, Tompkins, and Wayne counties will expire at 2 pm. However, breezy conditions are still expected throughout the region the rest of the day and night. Blowing snow will be possible throughout the Finger Lakes into Monday.Wind chills between zero and 15 above will be common throughout the day on Sunday. Forecasters also believe that record low temperatures could be hit throughout the week — as an unseasonably cold airmass locks in over the Finger Lakes.Additional advisories are possible heading into this evening — as the second system moves into the area.
