Victor Supervisor Jack Marren was reelected as chairman of the Ontario County Board of Supervisors. While newly elected officials will mean some assignment changes on committees within the county board – the leader of the Ontario County board will remain the same. The vice chairmanship of the board will also see a familiar face as Bob Green, Bristol Supervisor, maintains that post for another term. Marren called being elected the chairman of the Ontario County Board “an honor and privilege.”Some of the committee leadership posts did see changes. The lineup on the Ontario County Board of Supervisors will look like this for the upcoming year:-Canandaigua Town Supervisor Pam Helmig will chair the Human Service Committee.-Canandaigua City Supervisor David Baker will lead the Financial Management Committee. -Geneva City Supervisor Gregory Bandziowicz will lead the Governmental Operations and Improved Methods Committee.- Canandaigua City Supervisor Rich Russell will chair the Environmental Quality Committee. One major change to the first meeting of the calendar year, in addition to newly elected committee leaders was the venue. The meeting was held in Geneva – at the newly constructed and recently opened Finger Lakes Community College campus on Pulteney Street. The location has been the site of significant construction over the last several years, as crews worked feverishly to level the old Geneva High School.Finger Lakes Community College representatives pointed out that next week the campus will see it’s first official semester of functionality start. While some students have been attending scattered classes in the facility – a full semester of activity is slated. While the changes were not dramatic and things played out largely the way voters might have expected, the Ontario County Board of Supervisors is poised to hit the ground running in 2016.
