On November 3rd at about 7:30 am, a large tanker trailer that was owned by M&T Trucking in Pavillion, NY, rolled onto its side on Swift Street in the Village of Waterloo, releasing approximately 2000 gallons of milk whey product. The trailer was parked at Summit Milk Products at 61 Swift Street in Waterloo, and had just been detached from the power unit. The milk whey product was deemed to be non-hazardous by officials and safe to enter the storm drains and ultimately the Seneca-Cayuga Canal once it was diluted. The trailer was placed back on its wheels by Route 89 Auto and Pullen’s Towing. No tickets were issued following the accident.
